Custom URL shortener

Turn this: cutthis.link/x7kQpZ2 — into this: cutthis.link/blog. A custom alias makes every short link you share easier to trust, remember and reuse.

Choose your alias

Custom aliases are 3–32 characters of lowercase letters, numbers or underscores. Pick something meaningful — a campaign, a brand, a topic — and reuse it across your content so people learn your links by heart.

Who can use custom aliases?

Custom aliases are available on Starter ($5/month) and Pro ($12/month), and they're already free on the Free plan for accounts that verify referrals — invite a few friends and the feature unlocks for free, forever on that account.

Aliases are first-come, first-served. If a name is already in use — by a short link or a bio page — you can't take it; that keeps every cutthis.link address unique and safe.

Custom alias FAQ

How do I get a custom alias?

Upgrade to Starter or Pro, or unlock the feature for free by completing referrals from your profile page. Once available, the “Custom alias” option appears when you create or edit a link.

What characters can I use?

3–32 characters: lowercase letters (a–z), numbers (0–9) and underscores. No spaces, capitals or symbols.

What if the alias I want is taken?

Aliases and bio-page slugs share the same pool, so a name can never point to two things. Try a close alternative — or time-stamp a campaign alias like name2026.

Can I change the alias later?

Yes. You can edit a link's custom alias and its destination at any time from your dashboard.

Do custom aliases still get stats and QR codes?

Exactly the same as any other short link: click stats, a downloadable QR code, and the ability to password-protect or expire the link.
